Shower tile and grout cleaning in Gilbert

The toughest surface we work on. Constant water, heat and soap do things to grout that a floor never sees, and there are limits worth knowing before you spend anything.

What a deep clean achieves

It gets your shower as clean as it will get, and for a lot of homes that is genuinely all it needs.

Soap scum, body oil and the lighter mineral deposits come off. On a shower that has been cleaned with household products for years and never professionally, the difference is substantial and it may well be the end of the conversation.

Where cleaning has limits is grout that is stained through, uneven in color, or worn down over the years. No amount of cleaning brings that back. Color sealing does, and it is what gives a shower a genuinely new look rather than a clean one. We will tell you straight which your shower needs.

Hard water, honestly

This is the thing to understand about Gilbert showers specifically.

Valley water leaves calcium, and in a shower it bonds into the grout and onto the tile face over years of daily use. Some of it does not come off. Not with our equipment and not with anybody's.

What we will not do is chase it with a blade or an aggressive abrasive, and we will not use harsh acids. Those get fast results and leave etched tile and eaten grout behind, and that damage is permanent and considerably worse than the deposit was. We get out everything that will come out without doing harm, and then we tell you what is left and why.

Heavy buildup also affects sealing. Sealer will not bond well over mineral that is still in the grout, which means a shower with significant calcium is a harder candidate for color seal. That is a real consideration and we raise it before you commit, not after. More on hard water here.

Shower color sealing is not guaranteed

We tell every customer this before booking, and it is the most important paragraph on this page.

Most shower color seals hold up for years. Some fail early. A few fail within a day.

Almost always the reason is something already in the wall before we arrive:

None of that is visible from the surface, which is why nobody can honestly promise you a shower.

What you can control is cure time, and we give you exact instructions before we leave. Follow them and you have given it the best chance available.

Because of all that, shower color sealing does not carry a guarantee. Sealing a shower runs a few hundred dollars against several thousand to retile, and most people would rather try the seal first knowing the odds. We simply want you making that choice with the odds in front of you rather than discovering them afterward.

How a shower job runs

  1. Text a photo to start. We give you a rough range off that, free, before anybody goes anywhere.
  2. We come out to look properly, because shower variation is enormous and a photo only gets you so far.
  3. Deep clean first, always. We do not seal over soil, and cleaning tells us what the grout is actually going to look like.
  4. Color options if you want the seal, gone through with you and matched against your tile.
  5. A 25% deposit once you pick a color, which orders the material for your job and comes off your total.
  6. Cure instructions before we leave, in writing, because that part is genuinely down to you.

When we will tell you not to

Several situations, and they come up often enough to list.

Heavy calcium still in the grout. Sealer will not bond well to it, so the odds drop considerably.

Grout that is crumbling or missing. That needs repair first, and sometimes the honest answer is that the shower needs retiling rather than sealing.

Visible tile cracks or movement. Water is getting behind there already and a surface coating does not change that.

A shower that cleaned up beautifully. If the grout looks uniform after the deep clean, you do not need color seal, and saying so costs us the larger job.

Questions

How are showers priced?

In person. Text a photo first and we will give you a rough range, but a shower gets quoted once we have seen it because the variation is enormous and guessing serves nobody.

Will cleaning fix my shower?

It will get it as clean as it will get, and for a lot of homes that is all it needs. Where cleaning has limits is grout that is stained, uneven in color or worn down over the years. Color sealing is what addresses that.

Is shower color sealing guaranteed?

No, and we tell every customer that before booking. Showers are the hardest surface we seal and some fail early, occasionally within a day. Almost always it is something already in the wall before we arrive.

Why would a shower seal fail?

Moisture wicking up from behind the tile stops the sealer bonding. Old sealers or soap film in the grout block adhesion. Grout already breaking down will not hold anything. Cracked or failing tile lets water back in behind the seal. None of that is visible from the surface.

Why do it if it might fail?

Because sealing a shower runs a few hundred dollars against several thousand to retile, and most people would rather try the seal first knowing the odds. We would just rather you knew the odds.

Do you use acid or razor blades on hard water?

No. Both get fast results and leave etched tile and eaten grout behind, and that damage is permanent. We get out everything that will come out without them.
